Darnell Johnson claims Salvadorean Liga MB weekly honour

American Darnell Johnson (201-G) had an amazing evening in the last round for MC El Brasil Santa Ana and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 6.
The guard had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Santiagueno (#6, 2-3) with 22-point margin 95-73. Santa Ana is placed at 4th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Santa Ana will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Santa Ana's top player in his first season with the team. California State University San Bernardino graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (3rd best: 27.3ppg) and averages solid 3.8spg and 60.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Colombian guard Yovany Del Rosario (185-G-2002) of San Salvador BC. Del Rosario impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 32 rebounds. Bad luck as San Salvador lost that game 104-109 to the higher-ranked Cojute (#5, 4-2). This loss caused San Salvador to drop to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Del Rosario is a newcomer at San Salvador and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Sean Scott (190-F-1997) of Club de Baloncesto Cojute (#5). Scott got into 30-points club by scoring 42 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Cojute, leading his team to a 109-104 win against the lower-ranked San Salvador (#8, 2-3). Cojute needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Scott has a great season in El Salvador. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.0ppg (4th best) and assists with 6.0apg (4th best).
